‘Mannequin’ tied to balcony turns out to be dead body
SUBANG JAYA: Residents of a high-rise condominium in SS12 Subang Jaya thought someone was playing a prank on them when they noticed a “mannequin” tied to the balcony railings of one of the units there.
Foreign workers living in a fifth floor apartment were, however, shocked when they realised that the “mannequin” was actually the body of their Canadian neighbour.
Subang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Yahaya Ramli said police were alerted at around 8.20am yesterday when a resident of a neighbouring block spotted the body hanging from a curtain linen.
“We have identified the victim as Micheal Dellontinville, 48, a Canadian lecturer who worked at a university here.
“We found a two-page letter in the house for his five children in Canada and another for his girlfriend who is also Canadian,” he said, adding that investigations revealed that Dellontinville had called his girlfriend at 11pm on Monday.
ACP Yahaya said the man was also seen wandering around aimlessly on the ground floor of the condominium at around 2am yesterday.
ACP Yahaya added that the victim, who was divorced, had been renting the condominium unit for the past four years and stayed there alone.
He said Dellontinville’s remains had been sent to Universiti Malaya Medical Centre for a postmortem and added that the case had been classified as sudden death.
