Nazri: PAS' Hudud Act claim a lie

PETALING JAYA: PAS vice-president Datuk Mahfuz Omar has come under fire for claiming that Umno was pushing for a Hudud Act.
Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz lambasted Mahfuz for making false allegations.
"It's a lie," Nazri said when contacted Friday, responding to Mahfuz's claim that he (Nazri) would table an Act on the implementation of hudud laws at the next parliamentary sitting.
Mahfuz told a press conference earlier Friday that he had received inside information that the Umno supreme council had agreed to the tabling of the Hudud Act.
"I also received information that the Cabinet has given the nod," he said, adding that they would wait for the Act to be tabled before making further comment.
