Teen tries to flush baby down toilet after giving birth unexpectedly
A newborn baby was found dead in a toilet bowl in Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital in Kuantan,
Kuantan OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Jasmani Yusoff said hospital personnel have detained the baby's 16-year-old mother for investigations, reported Berita Harian.
He said she confessed that she left the baby to drown after giving birth early on Thursday morning.
“The suspect, who goes to a school nearby, was in the hospital to take care of her mother who has cancer.
“When she unexpectedly gave birth, the suspect is believed to have panicked and then tried to flush her baby down the toilet, which resulted in its head being stuck in the bowl,” said ACP Mohd Jasmani who added that firemen had to break the toilet bowl to retrieve the body.

During the 1.30am incident, the victim was alone in his cabin near the parking lot when he was approached by another businessman who tried to convince him to give up the parking lot.
When they failed to reach an agreement, the suspect doused petrol on his rival and set him on fire. He also threw two molotov cocktails into the cabin before running off.
KL CID deputy head (Operations and Intelligence), ACP Khairy Ahrasa said the victim, 36 sustained severe burns and is being treated at University Malaya Medical Centre. His condition remains critical.
