Angry trader punches Kuala Perlis assemblyman
KANGAR: A man punched Kuala Perlis assemblyman Mat Hassan after complaining to him about the poor business at the Kuala Perlis market.
Kangar police chief Supt Abdul Rahman Mohd Noordin said in the 9.15am incident, Mat was at Kampung Seberang Tok Pi to attend a funeral.
The 36-year-old man approached Mat, 52, and complained about the poor business at the market owing to a Burma bazaar in the area.
Mat said he would discuss the matter with the market traders but the man, dissatisfied with the reply, threw a punch at him below the left eye, said Supt Abdul Rahman.
