Man punches Kuala Perlis rep
KANGAR: A man punched Kuala Perlis state assemblyman Mat Hassan in the face after complaining about poor business at the Kuala Perlis market.
Kangar Police chief Supt Abdul Rahman Mohd Noordin said the incident occurred at 9.15am yesterday in Kampung Seberang Tok Pi where Mat had gone to attend a funeral.
Supt Abdul Rahman said the 36-year-old man approached Mat, 52, and complained that a bazaar run by Myanmar nationals in the area was affecting business at the market.
Although Mat told the man that he would discuss the matter with market traders, the man punched him because he was unhappy with the reply, said Supt Abdul Rahman.
