Man beheads daughter in brutal honour killing

A MAN beheaded his daughter in a brutal case of honour killing after finding out that she had been dating a man at their village in north India.

The tragedy took place last Thursday after the man discovered that his daughter had gone out to meet the youth, Tamil Nesan reported.

Neighbours who heard the screams alerted the police who rushed to the spot and recovered the beheaded body at the house.

The man has been arrested.

In his statement to the police, he said he tried to convince his daughter several times that their family's reputation would be tainted if she continued with the relationship.

He became upset when he found out that she was still seeing the man.

After severely attacking the girl with a baton, he beheaded his daughter.

> Makkal Osai reported that a woman who feigned her pregnancy had been caught along with her husband for stealing a newborn baby from a hospital in Bangalore last Friday.

Police investigation revealed that the woman was married in 2003 and the couple had a daughter.

However, she suffered a miscarriage later and was told by doctors that she could not conceive anymore.
