Escapee spotted at petrol station along Butterworth-Kulim Expressway
KEPALA BATAS: One of the seven suspects who escaped on Monday while being taken to the Butterworth court was spotted at a petrol station on the Butterworth-Kulim Expressway about 2am Thursday.
A police source confirmed that Mohd Sharimy Nor (pix), 28, had gone to the petrol station to buy bread and a worker at the petrol station recognised him.
“But by the time the worker realised that Mohd Sharimy was one of the escapees and informed the police, he had disappeared into the nearby oil palm plantation,” the source said.
The other six suspects who escaped on Monday are Mohd Khairulnizam Abdul Rani, 26, Hamzani Abdul Rahman, 37, Hissham Abdul Rahman, 39, Mohd Fairus Adam, 31, Mohd Noor Mustafa, 28 and Farid Akhtar whose age is unknown.
