Four-year-old boy’s testicle injured in a fall on piling rod


GEORGE TOWN: A four-year-old boy was seriously injured in his testicles and left thigh when he fell onto a steel-piling rod while playing at a construction site at Kampung Masjid, Jalan Perak here.

Mikhail Irfan Muhamad Sofian was given four stitches for the injury in the incident, which occurred about 6pm Thursday.

Following the mishap, Mikhail Irfan's grandfather, Zainol Sulaiman, 61, lodged a police report and wanted the developer to take the necessary safety measures to prevent a similar incident.

"My grandson and his friends normally play there.

“The almost 20cm piling rod has been erected there for about four months, but on Thursday, my grandson was unlucky and fell on it," he told reporters when met at his house here Friday.

Meanwhile, Mohd Azahari Mohd Rasrizal, 12, who witnessed the incident said he said Mikhail Irfan, who were playing at the construction site with two friends then fell on the piling rod.

"He was crying and there was blood.

“I ran to his house and informed his grandfather," he added. - Bernama
