SUPP cranks up general election machinery

KUCHING: SUPP has activated its election machinery in preparation for the general election.

Its president Datuk Seri Peter Chin said the party’s central leaders would soon visit its branches across its seven parliamentary constituencies.

“We had visited Bintangor and Sarikei SUPP branches last weekend and received very good response, especially from our old cadres.

“This is something that we should begin with,” he told a press conference after chairing the party’s Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting here yesterday.

Chin said likewise, the party had also conducted leadership and motivational training for all its election workers.

“We will also go and meet the public during Chinese New Year.

“All these activities are hoped to boost the confidence within and outside the party. SUPP is serious about bringing victory in the general election,” he said, adding that the party would hold a open house on Feb 10.

On another matter, Chin said SUPP was toying with the idea of providing life insurance scheme for all its 100,000 members.

“We hope to implement this by this year on a limited coverage amount,” he said, pointing out that SUPP had also come out with a newly designed membership card made of plastic.
