BUTTERWORTH: The moment Mohd Khairul Anas Fadli, 19, saw a man barging into his house on Saturday night, he immediately recognised him as one of the detainees who had escaped from police custody.

“He came asking for a motorbike. When I saw Mohd Khairulnizam Abdul Rani, I knew something bad was going to happen.

“He told us that he was very tired after hiding in the jungle for six days without proper food and wanted to take a bath,'' the youth said.

Mohd Khairulnizam became agitated after suspecting that someone had tried to contact the police.

“He then held a parang to my neck and forced me to follow him on the bike,'' Mohd Khairul Anas said.

Relating the incident which happened at 9pm, Mohd Khairul Anas said he was “abducted” to Sungai Bakap and then to Bandar Perda.

His four-hour ordeal ended when he was ditched by the roadside in Kubang Semang, Bukit Mertajam.

“He asked me if I have friends who could bring him to Thailand and I said I don't. That was when he got angry and ditched me by the roadside,'' he said.

Mohd Khairul Anas said he dared not try to escape because he knew his abductor was a dangerous man.
