Hostile monster fish lurking in Penang dam

MONSTROUS fish are said to be lurking beneath the waters of the Teluk Bahang Dam, claim several people in Penang.
According to Kosmo!, the Arapaima Gigas the world's largest freshwater fish and the snakehead (toman) had actually jumped at anglers fishing by the dam.
“Some anglers believe the fish have been acting this way because their habitat has been disturbed,” said Rosnani Ahmad, 37,
He claimed to have seen the fish swimming in the dam in October last year.
The 58.5m-high dam is a favourite spot for Penangites and it has been used for dragon boat racing for the past 37 years.
It associated these supposed sightings with the drowning of Jacob Issac Fletcher, 19, during a dragon boat meet there last year.
The dam is now supposedly sealed off to anglers.

Harian Metro quoted the woman, 31, as saying that the unidentified man slashed her back with a machete near her workplace at 10pm last Thursday.
“I screamed in pain, but before I could do anything, he hacked my right thumb off,” she said on Sunday.
The attacker also slashed her several times before telling her that she deserved it for wanting to divorce her abusive husband.
She managed to flee to the supermarket before seeking treatment at the Selayang Hospital. However, doctors were unable to reattach her thumb.
The woman alleged that her husband had beaten her up several times, and she had made more than 10 police reports against him.
According to her, her husband has been remanded following the attack.
