Suspected burglar jumps to his death to avoid arrest

KUALA LUMPUR: A man jumped to his death from a hotel room in Kepong, to escape arrest by police. In the 12.10pm incident, police received a tip-off that a man suspected to be involved in several burglaries in the area was staying at a hotel.

Kuala Lumpur CID chief Datuk Ku Chin Wah said the 45-year-old suspect jumped from the third floor of the hotel to escape when police raided the place and he died on the way to hospital. "The initial investigation found that the suspect had four previous criminal records...and we are still investigating if he had any ties with members of other gangs," he told Bernama.
