Pos Malaysia offers 50 sen flat rate for CNY cards

KUALA LUMPUR: Pos Malaysia Berhad is offering a 50-sen flat rate for postage of Chinese New Year cards to anywhere within the country.

Its group chief executive officer Datuk Khalid Abdol Rahman said the rate would apply for all sizes of the festive greeting cards weighing not more than 50gm.

"With the current development of information and communication technologies such as email, SMS and free cards, we understand that Malaysians will opt for these digital alternatives.

"However, many still value the personal touch when wishing their friends and loved ones with a physical greeting card.

"Therefore, we would like to encourage Malaysians to send greeting cards during these festive seasons by introducing the flat postage rate," he said in a statement.

He said the postage rate for the festive cards would be 28% cheaper than for normal mail weighing below 50gm.

However, greeting cards to international destinations will be charged the the normal rate, he added.
