Sub-contractor charged with raping his 14-year-old daughter

IPOH: A 36-year-old sub-contractor was charged at the Sessions Court here Wednesday with raping and committing carnal intercourse with his underage daughter.
The man was charged under Section 377B of the Penal Code with committing carnal intercourse against the order of nature with his 14-year-old daughter inside a container, which was their home, at Bandar Baru Menglembu around 3am on Dec 20 last year.
He was also charged under Section 376 (3) of the Penal Code with raping his daughter at the same place on Dec 24 last year, around 1am.
Section 377B of the Penal Code carries a maximum penalty of 20 years imprisonment and a possible whipping, while Section 376 (3) carries a jail term of between eight and 30 years, and not fewer than 10 strokes of the rotan.
The man, who was arrested on Jan 9, pleaded not guilty and claimed trial.
Judge Madihah Harullah set mention for March 6.
The man had lodged a police report on Dec 24 over the disappearance of his daughter but ended up being arrested instead.
On Jan 4, the victim, accompanied by a pastor, lodged a report stating that her father had been raping her for the past 10 months in the container where they were staying.
Unable to bear the torture, she ran away to her friend's house and later lodged the report.
Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Sum Chang Keong had said that the man's initial police report contained many inconsistencies, and that checks revealed his 30-year-old girlfriend had lodged a report against him in December for rape.
