Marine consultant charged with bomoh's murder

Shahrunizam being led into the courtroom to face the murder charge. PETALING JAYA: A marine consultant has been charged with murdering a 'bomoh' in Section 8, Kota Damansara.
Shahrunizam Salleh, 42, is accused of murdering Asli Hamid, 43, along Jalan Pekaka 8/7A, Section 8, Kota Damansara between 8.30pm and 9.30pm on Jan 1.
Shahrunizam, with shoulder length hair and wearing a black tee-shirt and jeans, nodded as the charges were read to him.
No plea was recorded.
Shahrunizam faces the death sentence under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
Magistrate Mohd Nazri Omran fixed March 4 for next mention, to be brought before magistrate Ahmad Solihin Abdul Wahid.
It was reported that Asli was shot dead at close range in a car as he was returning to a relative's apartment.
