Check your voter status at 949 locations

KUALA LUMPUR: The Election Commission is displaying the additional electoral roll bill (DPT Bill) for the last quarter of 2012 at 949 locations nationwide. It is on display for 14 days, beginning yesterday.

EC public relations officer Sabri Said said the DPT Bill involved the business of applying to register as a voter in October, November and December last year.

“The EC had received 295,122 applications, comprising 243,751 new voters and 51,371 applications to change voting centre addresses,” he said in a statement.

“Applicants are advised to check the DPT Bill. For new applicants whose names are not listed, they can fill up Form B and submit it to the Registrar (State General Election director) for the registration area in question.”

Sabri said registered voters who wanted to protest against the entry of the name of any person in the DPT Bill could do so by filling up Form C.

“The EC will also display the names of voters who are taken out of the electoral roll,” he added.

The places where the DPT Bill would be exhibited include state general election offices, computerised post offices and government offices and complexes.

For queries, the public can contact the EC headquarters at 03-8885 6565 or fax to 03-8888 9117, or any state general election office. To check the DPT Bill online, access www.spr.gov.my. — Bernama
