Bukit Kerinci Forest Park to be gazetted as green lung, says Raja Nong Chik
KUALA LUMPUR: The Bukit Kerinchi Forest Park in Kampung Kerinchi, Pantai Dalam, here will be gazetted as green lung which would be managed Kuala Lumpur City Hall, soon, said Minister of Federal Territories and Urban Wellbeing Datuk Raja Nong Chik Zainal Abidin.
"The area is still in the process of being gazetted as a green area and I hope it can be resolved as soon as possible," he told reporters after launching of 'Friends of Bukit Kerinci Forest Park Club', here Saturday.
Raja Nong Chik said the development of Bukit Kerinci Forest Park covering 66ha involved two phases, the first phase involving clearance work, tree and grass planting, which had been completed last year.
The second covering reforestation work and trails establishment would be done this year, he said.
On the club, Raja Nong Chik said the formation of such clubs could create awareness among the public to care for public facilities and recreational parks provided by the government, beside curbing vandalism activities from recurring. - Bernama
