Flood situation in Kelantan, Terengganu improving with only 59 evacuees
KUALA LUMPUR: The situation in Kelantan and Terengganu after the second wave of floods on Monday, has almost returned to normal following food weather conditions, with the total number of evacuees at 59 compared to 182 this morning.
According to the National Security Council's flood portal, in KELANTAN, there are now only 18 people from five families still housed at Sekolah Kebangsaan Bukit Awang, Pasir Puteh.
In TERENGGANU, 41 evacuees are still at the relief centres, with 20 of them accommodated at the Batu 24 community hall in Hulu Terengganu and the rest at the Kampung Nyatoh surau in Setiu.
According to the portal, the floods in Terengganu have claimed the lives of six people.
The first wave of floods hit the East Coast for a week starting Dec 23 and the second wave, on Dec 31. - Bernama
