Actor Teoh questioned over FB posting
PETALING JAYA: Radio personality and actor Patrick Teoh's troubles are far from over as he has been questioned by the authorities over his Facebook posting which was allegedly offensive to Muslims.
The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission questioned Teoh on Friday and recorded his statements over the posting.
Its head of strategic communications Sheikh Raffie Abd Rahman confirmed that they had questioned Teoh.
“Investigations are still ongoing. Let the law take its course,” he said.
Teoh had earlier posted a note on his Facebook page criticising the PAS-led Kedah Government and its guidelines for Chinese New Year performers in the state, which included some allegedly offensive remarks about Muslims.
He has since removed the posting and apologised.
Meanwhile, PAS leaders in Kedah have called for action to be taken against Teoh and insisted that he make a public apology instead of merely posting this on his FB page.
“Action should be taken against him (Teoh) as his remarks have insulted Islam and Muslims. He should not question or make extreme remarks about other people's faiths,” state PAS deputy commissioner Datuk Phahrolrazi Zawawi told The Mole.
PAS' Baling MP Datuk Taib Azamudden Md Taib also urged authorities to “take action against Teoh” and insisted that he issue a public apology.
