Public and private sectors in joint search

PETALING JAYA: Both the corporate and public sectors have joined concerned netizens in looking for missing six-year-old William Yau Zhen Zhong, whose search had gone viral on the Internet.

In a half-page advertisement in The Star yesterday, RHB Bank Group urged Malaysians to unite in helping to find the boy, the second of three siblings.

“We at the RHB Banking Group are once again saddened that another child has gone missing. To re-unite him with his family, we need your help to be our eyes and ears as we begin our nationwide search for him.

“Let us join hands and do our best to find this boy before it is too late,” read the advertisement, which also featured a photograph of the boy.

The boy's photograph has also been placed on the homepage of the bank's website.

The effort to locate the missing boy is part of RHB Banking Group's corporate responsibility programme “Missing Children - Reuniting Families”.

The programme had also played a part in alerting the public about the disappearance of Dass Robert, seven, and his friend Santiran Damaraj, eight, in December 2011.

They were re-united with their families 10 days after they failed to return home from a basketball court in George Town.

Both the Health Ministry and Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission have also posted Zhen Zhong's photograph and details on their websites, urging the public to keep an eye out for him.
