ALOR SETAR: International Trade and Industry Deputy Minister Datuk Mukhriz Mahathir and Royal Malaysian Air Force chief Jen Tan Sri Rodzali Daud lead the honours list of recipients of awards in conjunction with the Sultan of Kedah's 85th birthday celebration today.

A total of 87 persons will receive the awards from the Kedah Council of Regency chairman Tan Sri Tunku Annuar Sultan Badlishah at the Istana Anak Bukit here.

Mukhriz and Jen Rodzali will receive the Darjah Paduka Seri Setia Sultan Abdul Halim (DHMS) which carries the title Datuk Paduka.

Army Field commander Lt-Jen Datuk Sri Zulkiple Kassim leads another group of five who will receive the Darjah Gemilang Seri Mahkota Kedah (DGMK) which carries the Datuk Wira title.

Also receiving the award are Defence Intelligence director-general Lt-Jen Datuk Abdul Hadi Hussin, a member of the Kolej Universiti Insaniah board of directors Prof Datuk Ismail Ibrahim, Badminton Association of Malaysia treasurer Datuk Lim Teong Kiat and Langkawi Hainan Association chairman and former Bakar Arang assemblyman Datuk Tan Hong Eng.

The Datuk Paduka Mahkota Kedah (DPMK) which carries the title Datuk, will be bestowed on the Army chief of staff Mej-Jen Datuk Mohd Noor Daud, Second Infantry Division Commander Mej-Jen Datuk Azizan Md Delin and Malaysian Administrative Modernisation and Management Planning Unit director-general Datuk Mohamad Zabidi Zainal.

A total of 60 people will receive their Datukships under Darjah Setia Diraja Kedah (DSDK).

Datin Tunku Marina Tunku Annuar al-Haj leads the recipients followed by state executive councillor Datuk Ismail Salleh and Kuala Kedah MP Ahmad Kassim, Dijaya Corp Bhd managing director Dickson Tan Yong Loong, East West One Consortium Bhd chief executive officer Dr Jessie Tang, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia vice-chancellor Prof Dr Asma Ismail, Consulate-General of Malaysia (Commercial Section) trade commissioner in United State of America Fauzi Ayob, Federal Agriculture Marke-ting Authority director-general Ahmad Ishak and member of the Bina Darulaman Berhad board of directors Dr Ab Wahab Ismail.

Other recipients include Edaran Beras Sdn Bhd general manager Chem Endin Kam, Entertex (M) Sdn Bhd managing director Lee Leong Hock, Sing Ta Nian Sdn Bhd managing director Beh Chin Pheng and Binaan Sentosa Sdn Bhd executive chairman Loh Tieng Koh @ Loh Tieng Kang.

Also receiving the same award are two Kedah Medical Centre Obstetrician and Gynaecologist specialists, Dr Kamaruzaman Ali and Dr Kang Bean Chong, and Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital Surgical Depart-ment head Dr Wan Khamizar Wan Khazim.

A total of 17 people will receive the Jaksa Pendamai including two state exco members, Datuk Amiru-ddin Hamzah and Lim Soo Nee.

Others include Datuk Jimmy Lim Lai Ho, Dr Tan Chin Seang and C. Chandra Segaran.
