Body of ex-convict found at a dumpsite in Skudai

JOHOR BARU: A body of an ex-convict was found wrapped in a mattress and disposed at a dumpsite in Skudai here.
The body of the 22-year old man was discovered by an Indonesian worker who was about to dispose of some garbage at the dumpsite at around 2pm on Saturday.
It is learnt that the victim was just released from prison after serving a sentence for possessing a firearm last month.
It is also believed that the man is a local and was murdered at a separate location before being dumped at the site in Taman Mewah Ria here.
The victim was also found with the an identification card stating that he was an ex-convict and is believed to have been dead for at least 48 hours before his body was discovered.
Meanwhile, Johor CID chief SAC Datuk Dr Hashim Haron confirmed the incident and said that police were still investigating the matter.
"The case has been classified under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
"We are also trying to figure out the exact motive behind the incident and urge those with details to contact the Johor police hotline at 07-2212999 or visit the nearest police station.
