Suspected loan shark with 13kg of drugs nabbed


SHAH ALAM: Police detained a 27-year-old man in Ampang and seized 12kg of drugs valued at more than RM700,000.

Selangor Narcotics CID chief ACP Nordin Kadir said the suspect was detained about 3.15pm on Jan 18 in a Proton Saga Aeroback car.

Following his arrest, police seized 12.93kg of drugs, comprising heroin, syabu and ketamine, as well as 340 Eramin 5 pills, found in the car and two houses, believed owned by the suspect, in Ampang.

He said the suspect, also believed to be a loan shark, took police to the houses - a condominium in Pandan Indah, Ampang, and a house at Lembah Maju, Ampang.

Police also seized a Mitsubishi Lancer car and RM 205,295, he told a media conference here.

In Johor Baru, six suspects, aged between 26 and 50, were nabbed and drugs worth over RM1mil recovered from a shoplot in Plentong on Monday.

Johor Baru (South) OCPD Asst Comm Zainuddin Yaacob said apart from the drugs, police found 100 bullets in the shoplot.
