Najib arrives in Gaza for historic visit

Najib talking with Ismail Haniyeh in Gaza (Picture from Najib's Facebook page) RAFAH (Palestine): Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak entered Gaza about 4.40pm on Tuesday for a historic humanitarian visit to Palestine.
Creating history as the first Malaysian Prime Minister to visit the occupied territories, the trip is part of Najib's three-day working trip to Cairo, Egypt, as well as Gaza in neighbouring Palestine.
Travelling by land from El Arish International Airport in Egypt near the Gaza border, Najib and Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor went to the border crossing at Rafah and entered a holding room while waiting to have their passports to be processed.
After their passports were processed they entered the Gaza side and were met by Prime Minister in Gaza Ismail Haniyeh.
Najib was than accorded an official welcoming ceremony.
The Prime Minister will next head to Gaza city, which will take another 40 minutes by car.
