More radio stations join in search for six-year-old William
PETALING JAYA: Commercial radio stations are joining the search for six-year-old William Yau Zhen Zhong through public service announcements.
Commercial Radio Malaysia (CRM) president Datuk Borhanuddin Osman said the idea came about after he heard coverage of the missing boy on Star Radio Group.
“I thought that the 19 radio stations under CRM should also play a part in finding this boy. An appeal on-air can bring the message to more people,” he said.
All four of Star Radio Group’s stations – Suria FM, 988 FM, Red FM and Capital FM – are running public service announcements every alternate hour to galvanise their 4.3 million listeners to join in the search.
Information and a picture of William have also been uploaded onto the stations’ websites and their Facebook and Twitter pages.
Borhanuddin said he had discussed with Star Radio Group deputy chief broadcasting officer Kudsia Kahar to standardise the content for both radio groups.
Those with information on the missing boy can contact Sjn Goh Lai Than at 03-5631 9800 or 012-219 7133 or William’s father, Yau Kok Kang at 016-969 1616.
