Don’t tolerate unethical politicians

I REFER to the articles, “When the world of politics is devoid of ethics” (The Star, Jan 22) by Dr Mohd Farid Mohd Shahran and “Is there ethics in politics?” (The Star, Jan 24) by Hassan Talib.

As voters and citizens of the country, I think we can and should do something about unethical behaviour (e.g. mudslinging, personal attacks, etc.) of politicians.

For a start, whenever we come across any unethical behaviour from any politician, we should voice our displeasure, either through letters to the editors, alternative media, tweets, blogs, etc. and let them know in no uncertain terms that such behaviour is not acceptable and that we do not condone it.

Hopefully, over time, with a large number of people voicing out their concern, this will bring about a change in behaviour of some of our politicians as they will now know that unethical behaviour is no longer tolerated by society at large.
