Najib tells youths to be agents of change

Najib posing with some of the participants at the forum KUALA LUMPUR: Youths should take the initiative to be the agent of change for the betterment of Malaysia, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
"Change is inevitable and critical. If you want something to change, the best thing is to step up and do it," he said at the Youth Action Forum 2013 on Monday.
He said that unlike before, today's youths are more aware and wish to participate in the policy-making process while contributing to society.
The Prime Minister also gave the assurance that the government remains committed in supporting the youth and their aspirations.
The forum serves as a platform to showcase the work and ideas of youths, on how they can play an active role in Malaysia's social and economic activities.
Najib urged all parties, including the private sector and government-linked companies, to throw their support behind the various programmes tailored for the youth.
Najib also met 20 selected youth leaders who received an exclusive mentoring session on their plans and ideas to improve the standard of living in the country.
