KUCHING: A woman claimed that she was asked to strip, and when she refused was forcibly made naked and photographed.

The 21-year-old woman from Sibu told police that she came to Kuching two weeks ago to find work. She found a job in a coffee shop near MJC, Batu Kawa.

After that she found a room in a house close by and decided to move in early yesterday morning.

When she and a male friend (a man in his 20s she met at Taman Malihah in Matang) reached the house with a friend around 4am, the owner who is in his 30s asked them to clean the room themselves before moving in. He left after that.

According to the woman, when the house owner returned, he accused them of stealing his belongings.

He then asked a few of his friends to come to teach the woman and her friend a lesson.

The friends came and beat the two using steel pipes.

She said after the beating, the house owner and his friends stripped her down to her underclothes and took pictures of her.

After that, they allowed her and her friend to leave.

The woman and her male friend quickly lodged a report at Batu Kawah Police Station. The house owner, however, lodged his own report accusing the two of having stolen things from his house.

Police are investigating the case.
