SHAH ALAM: Deputy Prime Minister and Education Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin Thursday called at Sekolah Kebangsaan Alam Megah Dua in Section 27 here as part of a working visit.

He arrived at the school at about 9am and spent some time with the teachers as well as the pupils who started Standard One when the new school year began Wednesday.

Muhyiddin also visited the resource centre and the pre-school classes, joined the teachers for a drink and posed for photographs with them.

Headmistress Ros Aini Che Man told reporters Muhyiddin's visit was aimed at among other things, meeting Standard One pupils and to find out the impact of the Primary School Standard Curriculum implemented in 2011.

She briefed the Deputy Prime Minister on the school operations.

Sekolah Kebangsaan Alam Megah Dua, which has one session, has 54 teachers and 960 pupils, 168 of who are in Standard One. - Bernama
