KUCHING: A clerk claimed that four men robbed him at the roundabout near Jalan Stutong here.

He lost more than RM19,000 belonging to his company in the incident early Monday.

Muhammad Aziq, 25, from Kota Samarahan near here told Simpang Tiga police that at the roundabout, he was trying to give way to a Honda tailing him from behind around 10am.

Instead of overtaking, the Honda driver stopped his car behind Aziq’s. Four men came out from the Honda armed with sticks and machetes.

Aziq claimed that he was shocked by the sight of the men approaching his car.

They smashed the window, opened the door and dragged Aziq out.

He was beaten up and one of the robbers grabbed the sling bag in Aziq’s car before they all left.

Aziq claimed that the sling bag also contained two smartphones and his personal documents.

Meanwhile, a cleaner had a shock after coming face to face with a masked and armed robber when she woke up early Monday.

Raba’ai Majali, 62, from Kampung Panglima Seman told Sekama police that she was sleeping with her granddaughter in the living room of her daughter’s house in Jalan Sekama when she was awoken by a noise around 3.50am.

She saw a masked man carrying a machete in front of her.

The robber demanded that Raba’ai keep quiet and hand over her valuables.

Fearing for her safety, she handed over two of her mobile phones.

Raba’ai’s daughter, who was sleeping in her room, was woken up by the commotion and came out.

The robber then pointed the machete at Raba’ai’s daughter and demanded for her valuables. She handed over RM38 and two mobile phones.

The robber also tried to take the flat screen TV mounted on the wall but failed so he took a laptop in the living room instead before fleeing.
