Factory workers Mohamad Razif Arshad, 27, and Mohamad Rafik, 22, pleaded guilty to culpable homicide not amounting to the murder of Mohd Amran Ramli, 22, in Jalan Lobak 15, Taman Lobak Indah, Lunas.
They admitted committing the offence under Section 304(a) of the Penal Code around 8.30pm on July 29, 2011.
The duo were originally charged with Amran's murder, an offence punishable under Section 302 with the mandatory death sentence upon conviction.
Judicial Commissioner Mohd Zaki Abdul Wahab ordered the brothers to serve their jail terms from the date of their arrest on July 29, 2011.
According to the statement of facts, the incident escalated following a provocative Facebook post by Mohd Amran.
