Selangor MB: We may dissolve assembly after Chap Goh Meh
SHAH ALAM: Selangor may dissolve the state assembly after Chap Goh Meh if there is no indication from the Federal Government on the dissolution of Parliament.
Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim hinted that he had no qualms about Selangor becoming the first state to dissolve its state assembly.
“After Chap Goh Meh, if there is no announcement from the Federal Government, the state will decide on its dissolution,” he told reporters after chairing the state exco meeting on Wednesday.
Chap Goh Meh, which falls on Feb 24, marks the end of the lunar new year celebrations.
Last year, Khalid announced that Selangor would not participate in the general election if it was called in June 2012, saying he wanted a full year to manage the state budget passed in November 2011.
