JASIN: Two civil servants were among four men charged in a magistrate’s court here with the murder of a 24-year-old tyre outlet worker, purportedly over a love triangle.

The men – Public Works Department staff members Abdul Razak Sha’ari, 27, and Norizan Abd Rahman, 26, and Shahril Nizam Abdollah, 30, and Mohd Ramza Salim, 37 – looked calm when the charge under Section 302 of the Penal Code was read out to them at a courthouse packed with their family members.

It was so crowded that police had to be stationed to keep the situation under control.

The men, who were all represented by their counsel Andrew Lourdes, face the death penalty. No plea was recorded.

The four, together with another person still at large, are accused of murdering Mohd Fazrinnizam Ramli between 6.30am and 10.30am on Dec 18.

They allegedly committed the offence at a house in Jalan Tamban, Taman Merlimau Baru, Jasin.

Magistrate Siti Suriatey Mohamed Yusoff fixed Feb 22 for mention. Deputy Public Prosecutor Nurul Badariah Yusof appeared for the prosecution.
