Police on the hunt for two men who robbed 3 Moroccan tourists

GEORGE TOWN: The police are on the hunt for two men who robbed three Moroccan tourists of about RM2,000 and their mobile telephones in the Bukit Mertajam area in Seberang Perai Tengah near here Thursday.

State CID chief SAC Mazlan Kesah said Friday the one male and two female tourists in their 20s had flown into Penang and taken a car from the airport to a hotel in Batu Ferringhi at about 4pm.

Along the way, the tourists realised that the driver, who had a friend with him, was heading for the mainland and not to their hotel, he said.

"The tourists argued and grappled with the men who then ordered them out of the car in Sungai Lembu, Seberang Perai Tengah, and then robbed them of the cash and phones," he told reporters. - Bernama
