PETALING JAYA: The thrill of flying over Kuala Lumpur and looking at the Petronas Twin Towers from 457m above has moved actresses Archie Panjabi and Kajal Agarwal into wanting to get their own pilot's licences.

The two beauties, who are here on holiday, described the 20-minute air tour of the city on two Cessna 172 aircraft as a “liberating” experience.

“I was a little nervous at first, but once up in the air, I loved it. I am seriously thinking about getting my own pilot's licence,” said Emmy award winner Panjabi, who is best known for her role as “Kalinda Sharma”, a mysterious and sultry investigator in the hit drama series, The Good Wife.

Panjabi, who has also appeared in hugely successful films like Bend it like Beckham and The Constant Gardener and alongside Angelina Jolie in A Mighty Heart, said it was her tenth visit to Malaysia.

“I spent a lot of time in Malaysia as a child, especially in Port Dickson, as I have family here,” she said at the Subang Skypark Terminal here yesterday.

Kajal, meanwhile, showed no signs of nervousness when she eagerly climbed into the airplane.

“It is my second time doing this. I love the adrenaline rush it gives me,” she said.

The actresses and their families were flown in four aircrafts piloted by Captain Andreas J Walther and his team from the Air Adventure Flying Club.

Kajal, who is known for her roles in Telugu movies like Magadheera and hit Tamil movies Naan Mahaan Alla, Maattrraan and Thuppakki said she had had a glimpse of life in Malaysia when she stayed here for two months while shooting the Tamil film Modhi Vilayadu.

“The food is fabulous and Malaysia seems to be very balanced in terms of maintaining its culture and being very modern at the same time,” she said.

Both actresses met for the first time yesterday after being introduced by a mutual friend here.

Kajal is currently busy promoting her latest Telugu film Nayak while Panjabi is in the midst of shooting a double-feature film project called The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby.
