Situation in flood-hit Kelantan improves

KOTA BARU: The situation in flood-hit Kelantan continues to improve, with only 16 people still at an evacuation centre in the Pasir Puteh district, down from 22 overnight.

A spokesman for the Pasir Puteh Social Welfare Office flood operations room said the 16 evacuees, all from Kampung Gong Keding, were being housed at Sekolah Kebangsaan Bukit Awang, Pasir Puteh.

"They are expected to return to their homes Sunday as the floodwaters in their village continues to recede," he told Bernama.
