JOHOR BARU: Two policemen from a motorcycle patrol unit of the Nusajaya police head quarters successfully nabbed three men in the act of robbing a woman and her two sons in her house at Taman Bukit Indah, here last Friday.

Nusajaya police chief Supt Nor Hashim Mohamad said the three men, who were armed with machetes, were spotted by the policemen about 3.30pm after they saw two Perodua Myvi and Viva cars idling suspiciously outside the woman's house.

"When the policemen approached the fence, they saw a man armed with a machete chasing a youth," he told reporters at a press conference, here Monday.

Nor Hashim said the policemen stormed the house and managed to nab the three suspects who were hiding in the ceiling compartment.

Robbery tools, three long machetes, a laptop, handbag, gold jewelry, mobile phones and cash were seized from the suspects, he added.

"According to the 43-year-old victim and her sons in their 20s, the suspects had slapped them and placed the machetes at their necks asked them to hand over their valuables and cash," he said.

Two of the men tested positive for drugs and all of them confessed to having been involved in four robberies around Nusajaya and North Johor Baru, he added.

He said they have been remanded until Friday and appealed to members of the public with information on C.Kalaiselvan, 21, of 238, Jalan Cahaya 6, Taman Cahaya, Kampar, Perak, the driver of the Myvi. - Bernama
