PM and Federal Cabinet’s convey condolence to bereaved widow
THE Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and members of the Federal Cabinet had conveyed their heartfelt condolence to the wife and family members of national hero Warrant Officer 1 (Rt) Datuk Temenggong Kanang Langkau.
The heartfelt condolence was conveyed through Green Technology, Energy and Water Minister Datuk Peter Chin.
Chin, who paid his last respects to Kanang at Kuching Civic Centre said the national hero’s passing was a great loss not just to the family but also to the nation.
“We in the Federal Cabinet including the Prime Minister, convey our heartfelt condolence to Datin (Kanang’s wife) and family.
“We hope the family would have the strength to carry on with the goodwill of the late Temenggong of serving the country beautifully and gravely,” he told reporters yesterday.
Chin said members of the Federal Cabinet also shared the loss of the family and the passing of Kanang.
Meanwhile, thousands of people of all walks of life turned up at the civic centre yesterday morning to give their last respects.
Among other VVIPs who came were Social Development Minister Tan Sri William Mawan, Housing Minister Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg and Environment Assistant Minister Datuk Len Talif Salleh.
