Frenchman found dead in Sandakan hotel room
SANDAKAN: A Frenchman was found dead in his hotel room here on Monday with what is believed to be a suicide note by his side.
Sandakan deputy police chief Supt Fadzil Mohd Ali said Tuesday the body of Clement Maxime Benjamin Barre, 29, was found in a toilet by a hotel employee at 7.40pm.
A hotel employee found Barre unconscious with slash wounds on his hands.
He was already dead when an ambulance from Duchess Of Kent Hospital arrived.
Fadzil said police found a note in French believed written by Barre before his death.
Barre who arrived in Sarawak on December 5 last year stayed at the hotel since last Friday.
The case is investigated as sudden death while the body was sent to Duchess Of Kent Hospital for post-mortem. - Bernama
