Two pistols, bullets seized from couple


KUALA LUMPUR: Police seized two pistols and 13 rounds of bullets from a couple in Taman Segar, Cheras here early Monday, city CID chief Datuk Ku Chin Wah said.

He said in the 5.30am incident, a police patrol stopped a car which was being driven suspiciously.

"When the car was pulled over, police found a man aged 49 years and a woman, aged 31, with a six-month-old baby in the car.

"On inspection, police found two pistols with live bullets kept in the dashboard," he told reporters here Wednesday.

He also said initial investigations found the male suspect had a previous criminal record for assault.

The couple have been remanded until Friday to assist in the investigation under Section 8 of the Firearms (Increased Penalties) Act 1971, which carries the death sentence on conviction. - Bernama
