Muhyiddin: Feel-good factor for BN on the upswing

KOTA BARU: The feel-good factor for Barisan Nasional is on the upswing and the coalition knows how to get a two-thirds majority in the 13th general election, said Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
“I cannot predict whether BN will get a two-thirds majority but Umno has a method of knowing whether we can achieve it based on consensus, voter trends and their attitude towards the party.
“I cannot reveal other parties' strategies because if we were to announce that we can get a two-thirds majority, the voters would take it for granted and not vote for BN.
“Based on my nationwide tour, the feel-good factor is very encouraging including in my recent visit to almost all the districts in Sarawak,” he said after a 1Malaysia gathering here yesterday.
Muhyiddin, who is also Umno deputy president, said he had seen for himself the overwhelming response from the people towards BN.
“I cannot understand how the opposition intends to wrest control of such a state ... maybe it is based on assumptions but not facts.”
He said he could also sense the feel-good factor in Kelantan owing to the “Red Wave” campaign led by state Umno chief Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamad.
“People here want change as the state has been left out of the mainstream of development over the past 23 years under PAS.
“The same government is also belittling the people of Kelantan's intelligence by saying there is oil underneath Kota Baru.
“The time for change has come and BN wants the people to give us a chance to rule the state.
“They can vote us out if we don't deliver on our promise to develop the state,” he said.
Muhyiddin cited the recent pledge by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak to implement seven major projects worth RM3bil in Kelantan.
