Najib looking forward to watching Psy at BN do
GEORGE TOWN: Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak tweeted his excitement about watching South Korean star Psy perform here tomorrow.
The Prime Minister tweeted: “#cny Looking forward to delicious food in beautiful Penang tomorrow. Also excited 2 b w penangites watching @psy_oppa & @shilaamzah perform”, referring to the state Barisan Nasional Chinese New Year open house where Psy will be performing.
Najib is scheduled to arrive at the Han Chiang High School at about 10.45am tomorrow while Psy is expected to arrive an hour later.
The three-hour open house will start at 9.30am but doors will be open by 7am.
Psy, or Park Jae-sang, who is expected to arrive in Penang tomorrow together with Asian Wave 2012 champion Shila Amzah and a host of other local artistes, will be performing in front of some 80,000 people at the school field.
A check at the site of the event yesterday showed that the stage, canopies, LED lights and sound systems were already up and barricades were being set up.
Event organiser Mega Ultimate Sdn Bhd's systems engineer Anthony Chow Chee Meng said his team of 60 assistants had been rushing to get everything ready since Thursday.
Organising chairman Oh Tong Keong, who is state Barisan Youth chief, said visitors would get a chance to dance along with the superstar as an open air “rock zone” will be set up in front of the stage for Psy's fans to Gangnam Style with him.
Meanwhile, Penang dance group Parazee the Showroom is hoping to perform with its idol Psy at the open house.
The group's choreographer, who only wanted to be known as Tarzan, said it had done parodies of Psy's music.
Parazee was Sony K-pop National Showdown's third-place winner last year and the northern region's champion.
