GOMBAK: Four suspected ex-convicts are believed to have been behind the abduction, robbery and rape of a saleswoman taken on a four-hour terror ride last week.

Gombak OCPD Asst Comm Abdul Rahim Abdullah said police had identified four suspects and were tracing their whereabouts.

It was reported that the 26-year-old woman, who works for a jewellery outlet in Sg Buloh, was parking her car outside her apartment compound in Taman Desa Jaya, Kepong, when a van screeched to a halt alongside.

Four men rushed out, smashed the windscreen and windows of her car before dragging her into the van.

It is learnt that the suspects went through her handbag and were dissatisfied with the small amount of cash and valuables.

They forced her to reveal her bank account password and went to an ATM where they withdrew several thousand ringgit.

She was driven to a house and threatened, and then raped by one of the suspects as the others watched.

She was dropped off near Segambut at around 3am Wednesday where she sought the help of passers-by to take her home.

ACP Abdul Rahim advised people, especially women, to be wary of their surroundings whenever getting in an out of their vehicles.

“That is the time when you are most vulnerable and people need to be extra vigilant.

“If you notice a suspicious vehicle pulling up beside you, lock yourself in your car and drive to the nearest police station,” he said, urging anyone with information to contact the Selangor police hotline at 03-2052 9999 or visit the nearest police station.
