Penang CPO confirms threat on Psy's life during Penang trip

GEORGE TOWN: Police tightened the security for South Korean megastar Psy during his recent trip to Penang after receiving information that there was a threat on his life.
State police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Abdul Rahim Hanafi said there was tight security during Psy's performance at the Barisan Nasional Chinese New Year open house at Han Chiang High School field on Monday.
"When Psy arrived at the Penang International Airport at 6.15am earlier (Monday), we implemented security measures and tightened the security on his movements," he in a statement here Thursday.
Abdul Rahim Hanafi said police also arranged for Psy's return at 2am on Tuesday without the public's knowledge.
Earlier Thursday, state Barisan Nasional chairman Teng Chang Yeow said Psy did not take part in the yee sang tossing ceremony during the open house following a threat on his life.
