Maid detained for infant abuse
KUANTAN: The police have detained an Indonesian maid who allegedly hurled her employer's four-month-old son in the air, causing him to fall on the floor at a house in Bukit Setongkol near here on Friday.
The baby who sustained bruises on the hands and left leg has been warded at the Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital in Kuantan.
His condition was reported to be stable.
Kuantan police deputy chief Supt Abdul Aziz Ahmad said the 24-year-old suspect's action was caught on closed-circuit camera at the house.
He said the baby's father, a 42-year-old trader, was having breakfast at a restaurant here at 7.45am when he saw the incident occur in the living room of the house, via his laptop computer.
