ALOR SETAR: It is illogical for the Government to pay RM100mil to the Kedah state government to stop logging when the land and logs belong to the state, said Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

He said there should not be any talk of compensation when logging activities had already been carried out by the PAS-led state government.

"The state government should have thought about future generations when they cut down trees in the water catchment area. They should have stopped immediately but they continued," he said.
