PUCHONG: Malaysia can achieve a six percent growth annually under Barisan Nasional in the coming years with the people's support, said MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek.

He said the government under Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak is confident of attracting foreign investments and create 300,000 jobs per year.

"All this will not be achieved if there is a change in government.

"Economic, social and political stability are needed for the country to develop," he said.

Under a Pakatan Rakyat government, the country will be thrown into uncertainty, he said in his speech at the Barisan Chinese New Year open house in Taman Puchong Utama on Saturday.

Dr Chua added that given the unstable global economy, Barisan still managed to maintain steady growth.

"When choosing a government, the people should consider who will be able to perform better," he said. Najib, he said, had proven to be the friendliest, most approachable and most hard-working prime minister since independence.

"He has led the country to great transformation under the various programmes, and with the people's support, will continue to ensure peace, development and growth towards making Malaysia a high-income nation," he said.
