Najib: Sharing is the best concept for a successful Malaysia

PETALING JAYA: Malaysia can be successful if all races in the country are willing to share power, wealth, challenges and ideas, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

Malaysians, he said, shared everything with one another, adding that this was the best concept for the country.

“We do not only share celebrations but we also share power and wealth. And when that happens, we are able to live in peace and harmony,” he said in his speech during the National Chinese New Year Open House in Taman Puchong Utama last night.

He said this unique concept must continue in order for the country to reach its full potential.

Adding that he had read that the Year of the Water Snake was a good year to “achieve development and steady progress”, Najib said:

“But development does not come easily and must be from our continuous effort and with good implementation and more importantly, proper planning.”

Also present were the Prime Minister’s wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, Information, Communications and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim, MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek and his wife Datin Seri Wong Sek Hin, and other ministers.

Earlier, Najib and Rosmah took time to visit elderly couple, Cheng Ah Wah, 78, and his wife Wong Siew Yoon, 74, whose home in Kampung Pasir, Puchong, had been repaired under the Caring 1Malaysia programme.

In his speech, Dr Chua said Malaysia would be assured of at least 6% in yearly economic growth if the people were to continue supporting the Barisan Nasional government.
