A total of 149 bullets of the 9mm calibre and 28 of the .22 calibre were found in a plastic bag.
The bag was buried in the sand behind a semi-detached single storey house in Haluan Tasek Timur 3.
State deputy police chief Senior Asst Comm Datuk A. Paramasivam said the anti-narcotics team had monitored the house for a week after a tip-off that it could be a drug lab.
"There were no activities at the house and a raid was conducted at 2pm on Sunday. Although no drugs were found, there was a pile of sand behind the house where we found a plastic bag containing the bullets.
"We are currently pursuing a lead,” he said, declining to comment further.
