Doc guilty of sexual assault in Australia

MELBOURNE: The Elizabeth Magistrate’s Court in Adelaide convicted a Malaysian doctor on two counts of sexual assaults on his female patients in South Australia.

Magistrate Greg Fisher sentenced Dr Mohd Zaki Ibrahim, 37, to eight months’ jail, two years’ suspension and placed him on a good behaviour bond, said a court official yesterday.

The court was told that Dr Mohd Zaki committed the offences on March 31 and July 16, 2010.

Dr Mohd Zaki, a Public Service Department scholar, is believed to have worked at a rural town in South Australia before moving to the Adelaide suburb of Elizabeth with his family. — Bernama
